Steadyrack Proudly Sponsors the Ride for Sick Kids WA

For the past four years, Steadyrack has been sponsoring the Ronald McDonald House Charities WA Ride for Sick Kids (RFSK) event, and 2021 is no different. We are proud to announce that we are one of the Gold Sponsors for this year’s RFSK WA. We take pride in our support of the RMHC WA and contribution to the incredible work they do for sick kids across our state.

The Ride for Sick Kids WA is a multi-day cycling event, covering around 500km across WA. The fundraising efforts of the riders involved allows the RMHC WA to continue providing integral support to WA families with sick children. One of those kids is Taylah Jones.

Diagnosed with juvenile arthritis in 2019, Taylah’s condition requires constant check-ups and treatments. Juvenile arthritis (JA) causes joint inflammation, swelling, pain and tenderness, and can also impact the skin and internal organs. It’s a disease that affects at least one in every 1,000 children in Australia.

The Jones’ family live in the mid-west region of WA, about 400km from the city, where Taylah is required to be for all her medical appointments. The RMHC WA have been able to support the Jones’ family by providing 23 nights of accommodation across 9 different stays for Taylah’s trips to the city. Their support allows the Jones family to stay together on these trips and gives peace of mind that they are always close to the hospital and will never be in a rush for appointments. Sometimes, it’s these simple things that can make a world of difference.

Kids are extremely resilient and brave, often more so than adults. Despite her ongoing treatments and the impact they have had on her daily life, Taylah continues to smile and partake in regular activities. The RMHC WA provides an incredibly important service to regional families with sick children, helping support and shoulder some of the financial burden that comes with caring for a sick child. Steadyrack are proud to continue their support of such a worthwhile cause.

The Ride for Sick Kids WA kicks off on the 10th of October this year, for all your updates on the ride, head to @RMHCWA on Instagram and Facebook, or jump over to their website here!
